The Wrath of Mother Nature
Vol. 1, Issue 2
The new season has begun; the trees are going to bud, if they haven’t already. The Croci are peeking from beneath the snow and the earth is coming alive right before our eyes. As the snow and ice melt away, we notice it isn’t as pretty as we had hoped. “Why is that?” you wonder.
The answer is just as ugly as what you’re looking at. Mother Nature has struck again. The past season she has frozen your earth, brought snow and ice, and, worst of all, made everything dull and dreary. Trees are missing limbs. Your lawn is brown and yellow. All that lovely stone work around your driveway and walkway is not living up to your memory from the Fall.
Well, it doesn’t have to stay that way. We can help bring that all back to life with some simple repairs. Belgian Block damaged from snow plowing? Stone walkways popping out of the earth? Tell us about it and we’ll whip you up a brilliant and cost effective remedy.
Let us help you bring your property back to the way you remember it looking. Or better yet, let’s work together and improve what was once beautiful. Together, we can transform your property into something that is breathtakingly spectacular — something your neighbors will envy and your family will love.
Who’s Lawn Is THIS????
Spring is here and it’s time to take back your lawn! When better to do it than March? Let’s start it off right with Pre-emergents and Starter Fertilizers. What are these, and why do we use them?
Pre-emergent’s are bug killers in the simplest terms. Its function is to penetrate the newly thawed ground and kill the eggs laid by those lawn-eating bugs. This will clear the dirt so that your grass can grow to its full potential.
Speaking of potential, Starter Fertilizers are the next step to more fabulous grass. This wonderful stuff will enrich your now-dormant grass so that the seeds from last year will grow. You’ll get a darker richer grass than before. Questions? Comments? Try the interactive Blog on our website.

Planning Ahead
Volume 1, Issue 1
This is the time of the year when all the plants are still laying dormant. That doesn’t mean that you can’t be thinking of warmer days. Let’s get a jump on the new year.
Do you have any changes you would like to make to your property? Perhaps some new additions to your landscape? You could try a new fertilizer on your grass in April. You may have planted perennials last year. This year you might wish to consider a different type or style of planting to take their place! You may have noticed your fence borders are looking shabby in the colder months. A few Holly bushes will enhance that old fence. That look may just be tired and now you want something completely different. English hedge roses could give a unique look to your property’s edge. It’s always surprising how changing just one area will change the whole feel of your property.
There are also changes that are not related to plantings, but are just as important as your plant beds and lawn. For more curb appeal, you may want to replace your asphalt curbing with Belgian Block accents. There are many different stones and treatments to enhance your home’s drive and entrance. You may have a stone walkway, but have noticed it’s hard to shovel. We offer a variety of design solutions that compliment your style, while making maintenance easier.
Take advantage of this time to plan for exterior changes. It is one of the best methods to keep those icky winter blues away. It’s time to get excited about the warmer days to come. We already are. Let us help you plan that revamped look for your property today!
When is enough, enough?
Most people have house plants. If you’re like me, sometimes your plants do funky things and you are not entirely sure what is wrong. I work in the landscaping field, but I still learn something new every day. Let me share it with you.
During the year we all have busy spells, particularly around the holidays. Our daily routine gets thrown into an uproar and we forget about our little friends who bring life into our homes. Take a look at your plants. Are the leaves stringy or wilting? Are the leaves falling off more rapidly than ever before? Have you noticed it hasn’t bloomed yet this year? Your plant might be suffering from what I call “plant starvation”. Your little guy probably hasn’t been watered in a while. Most people rush to dump a lot of water on it and hope it will take care of itself. Unfortunately, that will only make matters worse. Now is the time for measured care. For the next week or so you need to water him/her daily and in small amounts (just so the dirt is damp). You need to do this till the leaves come back to life and are fully green. Then water it once every two days for about another week. Then you can go back to your weekly watering. DO NOT fertilize it, it will go into SHOCK! If your plant starts to get worse or if you have any other questions, please post your question and I’ll answer it.
